Gavin is known for his pro run in the 90s, where he won theXcel pro in proper Sunset Beach conditions. In 2000, he laid claim to first place at the Red Bull tube ride contest in Brazil, and has had several good runs in big Pipeline contests including the Pipe Master, The Backdoor Shootout and the Volcom Pipe Pro.
The North Shore presents an opportunity for Gavin to surf year round and keep pushing the limits of his own surfing and adapt and evolve as younger generations keep pushing the envelope. He has been involved as a volunteer surf instructor with the Mauli Ola Foundation for the last 10 years and is confident teaching surfers of ALL levels. He is committed to providing a quality experience with high level professional coaching.
Gavin epitomizes the North Shore vibe and more importantly continues to define the timeless spirit of Aloha. It brings him joy to teach others and share this lifestyle.
